Job Positions shall be posted at each Local office, on the Internet (NHVS Jobs Bulletin Board) and advertised in the local newspapers. They will also be posted with recognized organizations, agencies, and professional groups.
Persons who fulfill the educational requirements and experience requirements of the position for which they are applying will be considered for employment. Qualifications for each of these positions are set forth in each job description, copies of which are in the personnel office.
Initial screening will be done on the basis of the resume', application, and if applicable a report from a VR Counselor or Case Manager. Candidates are interviewed by appointment only. A representative number of applicants are then presented to that department head for final interviews.
All associates prior to their hire will have there past employment records verified. This ensures that qualifications pertaining to employment are in order. In addition credit, drug, and criminal background checks are a routine practice of the Personnel Department for prospective associates.
Final selection is made by the Executive Director with recommendations from the department head or Director of Placement and Job Coaching.
A temporary associate is one who has been employed for a specific period of time. The date of termination for temporary associates should be determined at the date of hire, if possible. Temporary associates shall not be eligible for any employer benefits. If the temporary associate becomes a permanent associate his/her accrual shall start at the period he/she becomes a permanent associate.
